Hi to everybody.
I'm writing there because i want to know if you have tried a very cheap compression driver. I'm looking for something that could reproduce the frequencies between 3000-4000hz to 20000hz, with a good sensibility (about 105dB) and with a termal power of at least 40-50watt. I would prefer driver with a sweet sound. I have found these items: monacor (img stage line) mrd-80 (17.90€) monacor (img stage line) mrd-90n (29.90€) Does someone has tried these drivers? thank you! |

Remember that even if you find a good cheap driver, you still need the horn, which cost money too New Beyma http://www.beyma.de/fileadmin/seiten...MC2012N_1_.pdf Aschenbach sells it at 48EUR May easily be improved by adding round edges at mouth Frustration Just a few days ago I found a big waveguide/horn, but cant find it again It was the kind with rounded bottom/top and plane sides, made of plastic Maybe not the best, but I was impressed by the size and it looked real good, and cheap If someone know about it, please tell I remember I saw it together with very cheap screw mount compression drivers Last edited by tinitus; 12th September 2009 at 02:19 PM. |

Selenium offers a good "bang for the buck." Selenium D220ti is about 30 euros right? But if you're going to go to the trouble of building a horn, and you don't need output below 2khz, get the best compression driver for that range:
The BMS 4540ND. Shouldn't be more than 60 euros or so. |
