Default HDS Tweeter - Lowest possible crossover point?

Hi,
I'm running the HDS Tweeter in my speakers and I'm running into some lobing/integration problems from the MTM woofers being spaced fairly far apart. I built the Elsinores, but I'm running into problems because I listen fairly near-field, and the speakers sound better the lower I drop the crossover point.

I'm set the crossover point at 1.5khz currently, with an active crossover slope of Linkwitz-Riley 24db/octave. Is this as low as I can go, or can I go lower? I'm mainly worried about keeping the tweeter safe and not damaging it.

From that point of view I don't see a problem (Fs=700Hz). Now check that the output goes up ~4dB from 1K5 to 2K5Hz.

With an electrical 4th order filter, the Peerless HDS can likely be crossed lower than 1.5kHz without issue, however be sure to consider the driver's natural rolloff.

If you have room even a smallish waveguide could help.

Check also a Butterworth instead of the Linkwitz on the side of the tweeter (only), ((2)or give a higher xover region for the mid-woofer, (3)or maintain LR on tweeter and lower crossover point from 1K5). That must work. Report results.
