Has anyone ever come up with a generic speaker volume tables.
By volume, I mean how much space a given speaker takes up in a cabinet. Now, I know each individual speaker is going to take up a specific amount of space, each unique to the individual speaker. But somewhere along the way some one must have come up with an average. I've tried doing it by calculations. Calculating a large geometric cone, the subtracting a smaller cone to get the volume of a 3-dimensional circular trapzoid. Then calculating the volume of a cylindar for the magnet area, and adding the two together. And expect I've come pretty close. But that is a lot of work, when I would probably be close enough just using an average. Has someone done this, or can anyone refer me to a chart with average volumes for various size speakers? Just curious. Steve/bluewizard |

calculate the volume of a cone with the base circle the diameter of the piston, and the axial length equal to the distance from the back of the mounting flange to the back of the magnet. It is an estimate which will be quite close in most cases.
