Default Looking for help with OBs

I want to pull the trigger and get dipoles in my living room. They would be used for ht/gaming. If you think the design is good, this is what I am thinking of getting. Of course other options/opinions will be greatfully considered.

Per Speaker
4x Dayton RS225-4
2x RS28A (One mounted on rear of baffle)

How does this driver compare to the RS180 in terms of distortion? They are similar in price and the RS225s displace a fair bit more for the money. Total cost of drivers would be ~$770 CDN + taxes and shipping.

Dimentions - ~ 63'Hx13"Wx6"D with 1.5" deep driver cutouts. This leaves 2.25" past the front and the back of 'H frame'. I'm not sure how this effects the higher frequency dispersion etc...

Other than driver selection, what kind of help are you looking for? It's not clearly seen in the post.

I'd like to suggest that a flat panel with round-off edge is best for the main baffle. Any obstacles and sharp edges near midrange and tweeter would get you some reflection and diffraction problems. This leads to the following issue - effective baffle size and low frequency extension. So, separate bass section might be the best solution.

Driver selection, cabinet design...any and everything since this would be my first 'designIY'. Do you think I would be better to make the baffle twice as wide (~26") and get rid of the H Frame? Thx.

No.

H or U baffle is good for bass, not for mid (and high). And too wide of a baffle is not good for midrange. So, you run into an inevitable dilemma here. (Of course you are not alone)

So, for better mid, the baffle should be not too wide, preferably 1 ft. wide or narrower; while the bass need larger area to minimize the cancellation.

There're already many posts by the pioneers discussing all these issues. Obviously they explain these stuff far better than I can. Recommended readings:
