Hi Chaps,

Any thoughts as to the veracity of having a grooved front baffle?

Can these grooves aid wave diffraction, if so, in what way?

If they were bigger, they would probably be detrimental to sound quality since they would act as edges and produce diffraction. As small as they are, they probably do no harm.

I believe a good rule of thumb is that an obstacles dimensions must exceed 1/4 wavelength to have an appreciable effect, otherwise the wave behaves similar to a fluid.

In other words, it appears to be simply aesthetic related.
