I picked up an old pair of BIC Venturi speakers for a song. I need to replace the tweeters. I have used the attach-a-small-battery method for phasing woofers. I was wondering if there was some method of phasing tweeters to be sure they're connected properly?

A tone at the crossover frequency (say, 1.5kHz) should sound 'mono' compared to the woofer or mid, whichever is next down in frequency.
