Default Need Info on Crossover Recommendations?

Hi All

I'm in the works of revamping my crossover on my DYNAUDIO setup to try to refine on what I have somewhat. I looked through all over the net and found some DYNAUDIO spec sheets on the drivers but no gives any factory recommended crossover points nor any info on setting up these drivers. Does anyone have or know if DYNAUDIO ever suppied this info at all? My system setup consisit of these drivers in each cabinet in a Diapolito configuration:

2 ¨C 30W100 ¨C Woofers
2 ¨C 17W75LQ ¨C Midwoofers
1 ¨C T330D Esotar ¨C Tweeter

Anyone that knows anythings please reply.

Thanks in Advanced!

There are many factors that would affect the choice of XO points and slopes. Driver cone size, Xmax, efficiency, response, box types, etc. I guess if having no such information unless somebody has hands-on experience with all of those drivers he would not be able to give you an answer. The best is to find all manufacturer datasheets and post them here so someone will be able to help you.

I have only used the T330D and I guess roughly you can cross it at or above 2kHz at any order. It is a very good tweeter but you need to shape the response to be flat. It was very hard. I ran out of ideas using passive XO so active analogue XO came to rescue. It worked.

By the way, after learning to design and build speakers for the past 5 years I realised that simulations may get you up to about 80% of the full potential of the speakers, and with good measurement capability you can get to 95%, and the remaining 5% would take the rest of the life to get it perfected, if possible.

Regards,
Bill
