Default What is the nominal impedennce of Zaph|Audio Bargain Aluminum MTMs?

I'm in the process of building the Zaph|Audio's Bargain Aluminum MTMs and plan to drive them with a tube amp and want to make sure I get the proper output transformers to drive them. The tweeter is rated at 6 ohms and the woofers are 8 ohms each. The crossover introduces a 7 ohm resistor on the tweeter. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I don't know exactly but I would ensure that your opt are capable of driving a 4 ohm load.
I actually tried a SE 2A3 amp with my Zaph's and it was beautiful sounding, although the
bass was a little underdamped. I think they would work quite well with a pp amp.

nominal - 4 ohms, actual ~ 3 ohms

Thank you both. I have built a Tubelab Simple SE (http://www.tubelab.com/SimpleSE.htm), and initially I put cheap 8 ohm Edcors into it, but I'm now upgrading to the higher quality CXSE output transformers so I will order the 4 ohm ones. I can't afford the multi-tap Hammonds (the Edcors are pushing my budget as it is).

Vaughn - are your Zaph's floor-standing and if so, ported or sealed? I'm planning to go with the following option that he suggests on his website: "If you are not using a subwoofer and prefer a leaner but deeper bass, go for a larger sealed enclosure. You can go up 1 cu ft per driver - in other words, the same cabinet size as the vented box but sealed." - I'm hoping that selecting this option won't cause them to become "boomy". Also, do you know what output transformers the tube amp was using?

Again - thx for your help!

I no longer have the Zaph's but I went with the 2 Cu ft ported floorstanding version.

My opt trannies were James 6123hs, which were very nice, if a little expensive.
