Question modding my Yamaha speakers - need advice

hi!! I have a pair of Yamaha NS-150 speakers and one of the tweeters died some days ago. So, I decided to mod the speakers to do some improvements.

Instead of replacing the tweeters with the original ones (really difficult to get a new one in Argentina) I decided to change the tweeters from 1" silk dome to Audax TW010F1 tweeters.

After opening the enclosure of the speakers I realized that the crossover is made with electrolitic capacitors

So, I need some advice before starting. What improvements can I do to the speakers?

I'm planning to:
- change the tweeters to this ones:

- change the electrolitic capacitors with MKP capacitors

what do you thinnk?

That tweeter isn't suitable, It doesn't respond down low enough for the 2Khz crossover point.

This is much better, for not much more money:

You'll need to change C3 and L3 for the new tweeter, and to put in a padding resistor so that the tweeter's ouput is the same as the mid-woofer

6 uF, 1mH, & 2.2 ohms seem to be a good starting point,
for a tweeter impedance of 6.5 ohms and 3dB pad

The K1 you linked to is a great deal. Tough as nails and not bad sounding. Hard to find a better deal out there.

thanks for your answers.

Too late, I have alredy bought the tweeters,...

Is there anything I can do to adapt the crossover to use this tweeters?

By the way, I'm going crazy trying to open the speakers enclosure, it seems that all the wooden is sealed with some kind of glue and I cant find screws....

If I cant open them, will be really difficult to modify the crossovers
