i have built a sealed version of zaph's seas l15 design.J:\tim\dipoles\ZaphAudio l15.htm i have also built romans seas l22 bass module. http://www.rjbaudio.com/Astorius/astorius.html currently i am simply running a 100uf cap to the l15 to intergrate the 2 units. in theory this crosses at romans designed 250 hz. any suggestions for a more elegant crossover.

The easy way to do it would probably buy a good plate amp with features, such as the "O-Audio"

Yeah, but now you are attempting a 3way crossover, and all sorts of strange things may happen, such as difficult phase issues
You need to get the series cap(100uf) exactly right, and optimally have a paralel inductor too I like to use resistor in series with paralel coil(resistor to ground) But big inductors cost money, and if you need several to find the right one it gets even more costly But size matters Moondog suggests a plateamp Could be crossed low You have made mains closed, so you may not need any highpass on them(100uf) If you want a higher 3way xo point One option could be the new interesting Hypex 2way plateamps, but more costly Ehh, maybe not much more than 2 subplateamps If you can live with those amps But crosed high active you need at least the possible choice of different slopes And optimally be able to design your own slopes I dont know what the new digital filter can do |

thanks for the replies. i put 50uf cap in series and 8.2mh coil in parallel. in theory this is the right crossover for a a 250hz crossover on a 6.5ohm midrange. sounds better. any further comments

OK
Only, the theoretical correct(calculated) size in particular I dare say is the one and only that with certainty is not likely to work

Most important question, how does it sound?
If it's working for you that is the most important issue.
