Default 15" guitar speaker

Hello,

I have a small 5W valve head that I really like. I also have a "cab" (I'd rather say OB) for 15" speaker, but no speaker there.. I know that eminence legend 151 or BIG BEN are good and obvious choices but I'm looking for something cheaper. I was wondering how speakers like eminence alpha 15 or beta 15 would work with guitar? Have anybody tried this? I't just for playing in home apartement.

thanks
martin

Hi,

15" + 5W is LOUD and quite thick and full. A good way to get evicted from an apartment

What kind of music do you play or what tone are you looking for (bright, crunchy, smooth, full, warm, etc.)?

Ted Weber has some great speakers and a good price on the signatures:

Cheers!

hi,
thanks! I know about weber speakers but you cannot get them here in europe at any reasonable price.. The chapest guitar 15" here is emi legend 151 (around 120$).. thats why I was asking about beta/alpha 15.. I can get them for 50$.. I play mostly blues.. 80% clean, 20% mild overdrive.. strat, LP
Is there any reason why alpha/beta would not work for guitar?

thanks martin

Hi,

Ted doesn't have a european dealer yet? I'm surprised!

Maybe go rattle his chain here and insist
http://www.tedsforums.com/forum/

I have little experience with Eminence, but it looks like BHTX does

Blues player? Then a 15" is definately for you, IMO

Cheers!
