'Recommended' is a floating alignment depending on the needs of the app. The only factory designs I recall is the Kit281 series, a dual driver vented tower or TL or smaller sealed cab design, but if you only have one driver/channel they can be scaled to suit.

Wow, thanks GM!!! That hit the spot. I have one more question. Do I need to divide the 281 kit volumes in half for only one AV8?

You're welcome!
Right, though if using a vent it's a bit hard to scale since it's flared at both ends, so dropping it to a flared 2" dia. and experiment with the cut length to find what sounds best to you at the listening position. Just be sure that there's no leaks or it will be a waste of time. GM

Thanks again GM!!!!!
You are the only person who has been able to help me. Did you build a 281 kit? If so, how did the AV8's perform? Bill. |

You're welcome!
No, I just happen to be on the old basslist BB when Avatar/Adire was formed, so wound up doing some designs for others and saved the pdfs just because I could. They were real popular with the HT crowd in general and Dan's MTM in particular. Still got the pair of Shivas and 15" PRs from the 1st batch of each though. GM
