Well, I've got my wire (14aug and 12aug) to roll my required inductors. But my question is, what is the best way to go about doing this? I mean, it's pretty tough wire and all, and to get it perfect is damn near impossible the ways I tried it. Are there any special techniques that'll give better results? What way do you guys use? Thanks.

there's a tool for every job.

my buddy has his grandfather's inductor roller, and it works fine for us. maybe you can find one in a second hand store near you?

For thicker wire like your 12/14 gauge; it's very difficult if not impossible to get the windings tight enough without using a machine winder.

Also it's pretty handy to have an impedance bridge to ensure the accuracy of the the values.
