Hey guys,
Currently I am using some LSK M5 speakers and I'm looking to upgrade. My roommate has some high end ELAC floorstanders that sound amazing but as I spend most of my time sitting at my desk (where my speakers are) I don't think its very practical to have floorstanders.I do have a large room though and do listen to music and watch movies on my bed. I recently heard some studio monitors and for the price they sounded amazing, I was particularly impressed with the amount of bass as I don't really want to use a subwoofer. So with this in mind I was thinking of building some largish "bookshelf"/monitor style speakers. Would doing this sound better than buying either a nice pair of studio monitors or buying the bookshelf version of my roommates ELAC speakers (the ones with the JET tweeter)? Will I be able to get a reasonable amount of bass out of a bookshelf setup or am I fighting a loosing battle? I know how to build an enclosure and solder a crossover but I have zero knowledge on actually designing one! My budget is at the moment is around AUD $800, but this is a flexible figure, if I need to spend more for what I want/need I can wait - I'm in no hurry if it means compromising what I want (within reason of course!). Cheers for any advice or ideas, Kev |

Hi Big man!
Read through this link Kit in Australia The seller of the drivers cited has reasonable stock left but if this is what you are looking for buy quick before stocks run out. Well with-in your budget with money to spare for a good finish or maybe even a 2.5, although I'd go with subs rather than the extra 6 inch
