Hi All,
I am looking at adding a zobel network to my Kef 104/2, mine are the non-biwire type, they are 4 ohm. My amp is the Audio Research VT 130Se. I was thinking of building it with a 10 ohm Vishay bulk foil .33 watt resister and a .01 Hovland capacitor 1600 v , from my understanding it's supposed to bring out more detail........... My concern is that , I don't want catastrophic failure from my amplifier, any help/advice will be appreciated. Thanks |

You do not have to worry about damaging your tube amp with a Zobel network because the output transformer acts as a buffer. The component values will have to be determined by ear. With the amps being tube type you can use bit more cap than with a solid state amp. In my personal opinion I think Zobels aren't worth the time and effort. But that is just me. I am sure there are legions of people who disagree.
