Experiences with Tang Band speakers! Help me, Hilfe Mich, Au Secours!

Hi,
I'm a poor ***, but I like building speakers cabinets. I've been building for friend's car systems for years and now I'm getting into the home audio market. The problem is I don't have a lot of money for the drivers at this time(school), and even a pair of Scan Speak woofers and tweets at about $500 CDN ($10.75 USD ) are too expensive.
I checked out Neura and they seem to have the best prices for poor pieces of crap like me. I have already made a set of "rear speakers" (currently still being used at the front) for my brothers home theatre system using the W3-871s drivers and they are frickin amazing just like you all said they were.
I was just wondering if anyone else had experience with other Tang Band Products and if they could tell me about their experiences.
Or if someone has found a good cheap place in Canada to buy drivers please tell me. I don't like being poor. But now school is done and by the end of the summer I hope to have enough money to complete my cabinets (three sets so far).

I'm a noob to all this stuff so if you guys could take it easy on me I'd really appreciate it.

If you are purchasing from Nuera.
Go the 593S in the dash and the W4-657 in the panels in the front and same in the rear.
A killer set up.
Done it.

Since you want home audio, the W3-871S is a fine driver. If you want lower extension the W4-657S is great too (although you might want a tweeter to add with it). Or you could use the W3-871S as a mid-tweeter and couple that with a 8" woofer or something simmilar. There are many things you can do with these cheap little drivers, I tried sealed, ported, dipole, transmission lines, and so far I'm sticking with a bipolar transmission line (it ain't complete yet, some fine tuning yet to be done after break in)...

For the price these are amazing drivers, the price doesn't do them justice, really.

Use the 871S as the tweeter MLSSA says goes out past 20k+-3db not bad.If you are listening past 20k you are out of my range.
And for the money no better driver to cover the range you are looking for.
Now put that 871s in a cup flat from 300-24k+-3.5db.
Doing a super Elf and a 2.0 that will use a 6" driver. all with the 871S as a tweeter.
And these will be on at the DIY show this weekend at Bent Audio in White Rock BC.

I just finished a set of MTM cabinets for John that will habve a set of FAL flat drivers in them$800.00 USD each yes 36 big ones for just the drivers.
They will use the G2.
I am just putting the final assembly on the CSS noodles, I would say needles but they are not even close.
They use 16 W3-319S1 per side along with the G1 ribbon the Hypex 2 way crossover and then a DPL 12 with the DT300 for lows.

So a few arrays will be on show.

Sean, those W4's look amazing! And that Shiva looks like she means business. Where did you buy the driver from? Creative sound?

RAW, in your opinion would that setup (in your car) be comparable or better than a set of similar drivers from, say, audiobahn or pioneer?
Those 6X9's on Neura's site look like they'd haul some ***.

I am thinking of going with 2 TS25P601c tweeters and 2 WM0640A6-B 6" woofers from Neura's clearance page (ref. post #1 re: I'm a poor ***).

Up till now I have just used designs from other peoples cabinets and xovers and now I am starting from scratch. I need help designing a cross over but I don't even know where to start!

Is there a program that would help me build a crossover for this project? Or perhaps if any of you guys could refer me to a page that tells me what I would need to know.

I tried the FA69P805-W from nuera's clearance items, good driver, it looked like the best fullrange that had reasonable efficiency, and for $6 usd it's absolutely amazing.

Well the W3 and W4 match up for car audio.
Well lets say those that listened to it compare it to a $1000.00 CND A&B Sound special.Cost on drivers only.That is the comapre I will tell you.

On the clearance there is some good deals that people just have not grabbed yet.

Raw, I'm sorry but I don't know what A&B is? Are they a high end retail store or a company that I haven't heard of?

I think I will follow in your footsteps and try that combo for my brother's mitsubishi lancer. If he can afford it I will double them up in the doors. He liked the W3-871S for his house so, since he's given away his old audio to my other brother (my twin) I will try to hook him up with the TB stuff. It'll be cheaper than a set of Premier 6.5 components for all the doors and rear deck!

My brother is interested in some cheap bass now. What would you suggest? The 6X9's or the 8's from Neura?

My twin brother has a 91 civic with a ZC in it. He likes to race (legally most of the time) and he likes his music. So I got to thinking what could I do for him that would keep the weight down for him and yet still sound good? Any suggestions?
Anyone who has done a solo race before must know what a pain in the *** it is to remove a whole car audio system to race for a day.

So what are your suggestions?
