Hi All,
I wonder if anyone can help or advise concerning a problem I have with a pair of TDL Near Field Monitors. I have purchased them second hand and although they are in exceptional condition, they sound absolutely awfull ! I cannot hear any high notes (trebles) coming from either speaker unless I turn the treble control to maximum on my amplifier. The tweeters do not appear visually damaged in any way but the spaekers sound so unbalanced that I cannot believe for one moment that this is how they are supposed to sound.... Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Richard. |

How are you at testing? Can you pull the drivers and test the resistance?

Hi,
Do you mean for me to remove the woofer and tweeter and test them out of the speaker enclosure ? If so, I can do this - The + and - wires are soldered to the terminals on the speakers - Would I need to unsolder to test ? Also, what sort of resistance readings would I expect from the tweeters and woofers ? Many thanks |
