Replacing Peerless 53 NDT Tweeters

Hi everyone,

I have a pair of speakers using these tweeters. I am really not happy with the tweeters; they have a very thin sound and make the speakers unusable.

Here are the specs of the drivers:

Does anyone have any recommendations of tweeters I can use in their place? I am looking to limit myself to $100 for the pair. I quite like Vifa and Seas drivers.

Its far more likely to be a crossover design problem
than "poor" tweeters, post further information ....

Am using Vifa PL14WJ09-08 midrange and the Silver Flute 8" woofer.

My current consideration for tweeter is the DX25TG05-04

Sounds like a killer combo to me... should mate together both in response and tone... someone surely has done this combo.

Hi,

All responses can be shaped, its simple enough to downtilt
the drive to the tweeter with an extra R and C as long as
the tweeter has some attenuation, if its actually needed.
