Just recently have acquired an old speaker and it is testing 12.6 on the multi meter, I suspect it is a 16 ohm speaker. Can I succesfully run this thing out of a guitar amp with an 8 ohm out put and achieve the maximum output of this speaker for testing it to see if it works and how it performs. I just need to check it to see if it is working or not. And would it do the same if it was done with an amp that had a 4 ohm load. I have these two types of amps.

16 ohms on an 8 ohm tap won't give max output power wise, but distortion should decrease. It won't hurt anything.
