I came across this 10" driver http://sbacoustics.com/specproduct.p...%20SB29NRX75-6
This is a Danish design company that manufactures in Indonesia which lowers the prices a bit! Madisound (a US retailer) states that in a 2ft^3 box (56.6L) it will give an F3 of 28 hz with ~ a 7.5 cm x 30.5 cm vent. I took it to 65L tuned to 28 hz and got an F3 of <26 hz. Seems pretty impressive for a $150.00 driver! I'm starting to plan for my first 3-way system, my only other design is a 2-way with a Hiquphon tweeter and a ScanSpeak midwoofer, so I appreciate Danish design and products. However, given the exchange rate, $ to Euro, making an all Danish made 3-way would be very expensive. So I have several questions: Does anybody have any experience with this driver? Would this configuration be appropriate for a woofer in a 3-way (as opposed to a sub)? How high would you expect to crossover to a mid? Any comments will be appreciated, JohnZ |
