Woody Norris
Recently I have been listening to some of the lectures on the website called TED ( technology, entertainment, design) which is one of the best websites that I have come across.
I watched this guy Woody Norris demonstrate and talk about a technology that he has invented which enables you to focus sound into a very tight beam, so much so that unless his device is pointing straight at you, you hear virtually nothing.
He talked of finally having true binaural sound using this technology, in that it would be possible to focus each channel to each of your ears seperately.
On one of his commercial websites he has three different acoustic drivers, one of which uses the technology that I have just mentioned, the other is a loudspeaker driver called the "Sound Sabre" which runs from 250Hz to above 20khz.
Have a look at the lecture on TED and then check out his technology. It is all very interesting. I am not sure about the actual fidelity of his devices but......
Does anyone on the forum have any experience with this technology?
Cheers, Jerry
