Area of rectangle = length * width
Area of circle = pi * radius * radius
pi = 3.14

That's it? What about the length of the port inside the box?

Can you google? Try searching for....I dunno..."Speaker port calculations".

Search WinISD for simple speaker box calc software. Search DIYAudio before posting...etc.

Ports are cross sectional area and length. When comparing slotted to round, if the cross sectional area is the same, then the length is the same (provided things like the flare are equal).

Here is a list of on-line port vent calculators that I've accumulated -

The first is for Sloted Ports -

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#porsq

Others-

http://www.linearteam.dk/default.asp...ventcalculator

(can calculate rectangular ports)
http://www.2k4civic.com/portcalculator.html

(also calculates Sloted Ports)

Hope that helps.
