Help? Does anyone know of a constructive use for 4 Audax MHD17B37 Bextrene cone mid woofers? I would like to put them to good use but am not sure what to structure with them. About 18 years (or so) ago Madisound ran an assessment for me and recommended a vented box - 10 liters per driver with 1 inch port - 2 " long. Gary Hubbard, Rockford, Illinois.

Do you have the specifications for your drivers?? Thiele Small parameters....
You could probably design rather easily an MTM Appolito pair.assuming of course we can match up a tweeter (Likely).
You have the "recommended" volume for the drivers already (More than half the work done already!)
Kinda like my towers I use currently.

Default Speaker

hey,

I'm actually in possession of two little hifi speakers built by a franch engineer 20 years ago.

Both Audax speakers don't work anymore, and I've been looking for them for 2 years.

Have you used or sold them since your last message?

Thank you,

François.

Unfortunately, I do not want to part with them. I remain intrigued to discover their potential. GH

Default For Richard Ellis:

Richard: Thank you for your response. The drivers are MHD 17 B 37 R 2 CP 12. 8 ohms, QTS =0.29, 1.5" vc diameter, 85.6 w efficiency, VAS = 31.15 L, Res. Frequency 33 +/- 5. So I guess a D'appolito box of 20 L. with a Fountek 3 " ribbon tweeter.
