I would like to start testing my speaker design. I have the ECM8000, Tasco Links USB Phantom Power box, SoundBlaster X-Fi sound card, Atma-Sphere all balanced pre and power amps. The power amp will take an RCA input.
The sound card only has 1 (mic) input, and 3 outputs. All mini plugs. Am I safe in assuming I use the monitor out of the Tasco to the mic in of the sound card?, or should I use the headphones out on the Tasco?. If I am reading the ARTA manual correctly, I need a cable to go from the soundcard out and into the power amplifier. Am I safe in assuming I need to make a cable which is mini plug at one end, and RCA out at the other?. Is the ARTA measuring box a good investment, and where would I get one?. The voltmeter's I can find all have two prongs. Is there a concesus on the best type of electronic voltmeter to use?. Will I need to redo the measuring ends?. Thanking you all in advance. Bill |
