Push-Pull drivers for array?

I think most people agree that running a pair of woofers in push-pull is an easy way to cut distortion. Drivers with the most difference between their out stroke and in stroke benefit the most. Would there be much benefit to using one column of drivers facing out next to another column facing in for midbass freguencies? Another possible arrangement is one column with the drivers alternating facing out and facing in. These drivers would only be working down to 70 hz but since this does not cost anything extra it might be worth trying. Any ideas or experience?
Thanks,
Ted

With magnet facing out there will be unwanted diffraction at higher frequencies

Besides, the greatest advantage of pushpull will be at LOW frequencies, and most significant with some cone movement

The line array itself, with many drivers, ought to have greater impact on this issue, non-linear distortion
