Hi all
A while back I had blown the speakers in my Mirage 590i Towers, while me and a buddy got a little crazy with the volume, [ these speakers have 2 tweeters and 2 mid-woofers each, mounted TM front and TM back ] I got the idea that instead of using the same speakers, I would attempt an upgrade. while surfing around I stumbled on Zalytron, and gave him a call, he suggested usher 9950c and focal 5w4252, 4 each and to use the original crossover.. now I have since blown the crossover for the tweeters. I was considering buying a Dayton 2-way 2k crossover, but thought I would ask Your opinions on what would be the best crossover for this combination.. I'm thinking to make crossover selection easier I would eliminate 1 of the tweeters in the towers making it something like a MTM design. at the moment these speakers are powered by a Yamaha RX-770, but in the future I would like to purchase a Acoustic Reality eAR 202-ref or equivalent and run the system from an HTPC.. any thoughts ? or should I just take the Drivers and build an standard MTM configuration.. TIA |
