Default elac fs137 jet and similar designs

This question is about speakers being able to produce an illusion of musical instruments being located at exact positions in the room when listening to music. I have heard that designs like elac fs137 jet (which is test-winner in the 1000 Euso-class) may have problems in this respect if the bass/midrange-drivers are separated too much.

Has anyone evaluated this for elac fs137 jet or on similar designs?

How does the mentioned ability depend on the distance between the bass/midrange-drivers?

Hi,

Seems a perfectly soundly(sic) designed 2.5 way.
The MT c/o at 2.5kHz is fine in terms of spacing issues.
The bass to mid 0.5 c/o point has no spacing issues at all.

Thank you sreten,
have you listened to this kind of designs and
found them to produce a precise "image" of
the sound?

Hi,

I've not listened to them in your terms.
A 2.5way should be the same as a 2-way.
140mm driver + small tweeter is close spacing.

To me there is no this "kind" of design, not enough detail.
There is good design and bad design, bad sounds poor.
