With the unique ability to create a fully-transparent speaker that offers amazing sonic performance, Emo Labs has developed Edge Motion™ audio systems for display-based applications. |
Amazing sonic performance.. maybe amazing because it's invisible, but I really doubt it's amazing compared to even a modest convetional speaker.
cool tech tho. |
I think by "hifi" they may mean "as good as the $5 1800W PMPO computer speakers used in many multimedia computers.
There is just not enough information available at the website to make me believe otherwise. There is just some marketing mumbo-jumbo about how sideways sound inside your monitor is better than two completely separate speakers beside your monitor. There really isn't any actual information there. For example, in the FAQ: Quote:
Q. What is the frequency response of the Edge Motion? A. It sounds good and loud, but not that loud, and maybe not that good. Looking at it from a non-hifi perspective, yes Badman is right, it is cool tech, and definitely has a useful application. |
