MACH 2 TWEETERS

Hi there, I have a pair of mach 2 speakers that i have been using for my part time mobile disco, They sound the dogs dinner with music, but when I use them for Karaoke the tweeters dont seem to have the "Balls" and seem to distort. I want to keep the speakers as I have had them since the 80's and dont want to spend a fortune on new disco bins. If i upgrade the tweeters what spec do I need ? and will it make any difference?
