Because here is a pair of Esotar T330D available in hands.I have been spending a mount of time and energy in finding perfect woofs to match it as a bookshelf .at first , I ever planed to match with Scan 8545 due to be available too .but finally I gave up because of the poor sensitivity ,attenuation would be considerable ,it's not a good choice for one order filter either .
several days agao , I luckily got a pair of Audio Technology 18H52 drivers .so , my project gets ready ! anyone who ever experienced the same would like to share the success . best regards . |

Will be a good match, I did a project with 18H52 + Morel supreme. I think you have to look to cross around 2 kHz. Do not forget to put a notch filter on the 18H resonance.

Dear Paolo ,with respect to sonus faber ,I ever got a few information about extreme ,yeah it's great .and sonus faber created it as state-of-arts one . particularly , its one order crossover without any capacitor .sonus faber also applied one KEF b139 to be auxiliary bass radiator in moving down its low frequence range . so ,maybe sonus faber elect amator I can be similar to mine , it 's also designed in one order crossover with Esotar and AT . Best regards. |

Yes, you are right, my bad memory
Of course The Electa Amator ( first series) is the more similar. But I remember The xover was not first order, but a more complex one. I have to check my old magazines, I have the test.......... Cheers, Paolo |

Hi meridian,
I know SF speakers quite well ( the factory is 50km from my house). Inspiration is good but IMO you can make a better one if you have good skills and instrumentation. (good ears also !!) Offset the esotar two cm back and try to make a true first acoustic order at about 2500 Hz. The esotar is very robust! Just my 2c. Cheers, Paolo |
