Celestion HF1300

I'm researching the HF1300 drive unit, does anyone have a spec. sheet for it and the mk2 version. I'm interested in a list of the loudspeakers that deployed them ( such as the Spendor BC1 ) and does anyone has a figure on the number produced.

Haven't got a spec sheet, but found info that says the top frequency was 18kHz. That's supposedly why they often where used with Coles 4001 "Super Tweeter". This was the configuration used in B&W DM2 back in the 70's.

I think the 13kHz limit is due to the crossover, the roll off looks to fast to be unaided. I know it doesn't get up to 20kHz, but the mk11 (which was very little different) did 15kHz +/- 2dB. see the attached .pdf does anyone have a spec. sheet for the mk1 ?

I have read the spec sheet for the HF1300 a few times and I still do not believe it.

I have some speakers that have the hf1300 in and when I remove the super tweeter I hear a big difference in sound. I do not believe that my hearing goes to 18,000 hz so I guess the HF1300 is a lot down on sound level at even 14,000 hz.

I think that the spec says 15khz, not 18khz. even so when you are removing the supertweeter are you leaving the crossover in place? if so the hf1300 will be being rolled off below either of these frequencies, probabally in the 10khz region. so you are going to hear some hf loss by removing the super.

Does the speaker you are listening to have a mk1 hf1300?. The spec. sheet is for a mk11 which I think was sold as a separate unit in the late 70's and early 80's. Most commercial designs BC1 etc seem to use the mk1.
