Default Impedance for beginners

Here's impedance plot for Monacor SP15A-350-Neo, 15" woofer firing upwards (like Linkwitz Pluto). Three curves: free air, stuffing only on the bottom (pipe exit) labelled "less", labelled "more" that means in a whole volume, stuffing material wool. Could you tell if green curve is ok in terms of standing waves, overall performance or this closed box require sometimes between blue and green? Is tone burst or CSD required?

Hi,

The driver parameters Fs= 49Hz, Qts=0.25, Vas=125L
do not suit closed box loading unless no bass is required.

The driver should be vented an even then bass is restricted.
This is par for the course for a 105dB/W/1m professional driver.

Green appears to be overstuffed as far I can tell.

/sreten.

I can sacrifice efficiency for equalisation eg. "Linkwitz Transform" up to 50Hz?

Below impedance must be definitely flattened?

Do you have this woofer or... ?

Its not exectly cheap, so it wouldnt be too hard to find a better one with lower Fs and higher Qts

I know Pro woofers are intended to be used in BR, but I wouldnt use any other than closed and with the proper specs I think it will do better that way...at home

Oh yes, I forgot to say that my focus is on 18"

I bought this woofer just after price drop and because of high efficiency, modern neodymium magnet and availability. Now look for some crossover advices. Have tried low order asymmetric passive crossovers with Zobels but couldn't find solution in LspCAD. Most of the responses have -5dB between 800-1300hz. Sound lacks nuances audible on headphones and Jordan 50mm module which is a bit too bright.
