Default Seas L18 in a TL?

Yepp, has anyone any experience with this driver in some sort of TL? Says in the spec sheet that it's not a bad idea.
I don't know how to calculate one myself but I'm willing to be the bronze if someone else is the brains!

I've used the W18E and W18EX in a TL and both are quite impressive, the W18E with higher Qts give a lower bass response but I prefer the EX in the higher frequencies. Looking at the L18 specs and construction, I believe it would give you a bit of both.

Sounds good, the problem is that I don´t got the skills to calculate TL's. Have been lurking around the net for a build but I didnt find any. Suggestions anybody?

Greets!

What do you have in mind, a fairly high tuned maximally flat alignment or one tuned to Fs or somewhere in between?

I was thinking of reaching low (fs) and crossing them over active at 2000 hz with the vifa xt25tg30. But I haven´t and are not able to do any sims so i don´t really know how "unflat" alignment that would create?

Here's three alignments based on various design trade-offs to choose from since from my POV the high tuned TL best meets the usable bottom end, but you may mean a near IB one (Fs tuning) or even somewhere in-between.

All dims approximate, L = axial pipe length, CSA = cross sectional area of pipe, zdriver = location from the closed end and simmed stuffing density is based on using loose polyfil which according to MJK isn't accurate since it exceeds 1.0 lb/ft^3, so strictly a starting point for experimentation:

36 Hz Fp:

L = 89.937"
CSA = 31.125"^2
zdriver = 31.375"
stuffing density = 1.0 lbs/ft^3

56.16 Hz Fp:

L = 56.125"
CSA = 41.500"^2
zdriver = 19.562"
stuffing density = 1.25 lbs/ft^3

115.38 Hz Fp:

L = 26.000"
CSA = 68.00"^2
zdriver = 9.06"
stuffing density = 1.75 lbs/ft^3

Looking forward to a review plus final design details!

Default Seas L18 in a TL?

Didn't work for me that way in my last game - there were just too many of them - I definitely killed a lot of them but the rest just swarmed past & took out the TL. For me that second ship was essential. Maybe I'd left the mission until I was at too high a combat rank to do it with a single ship? Alternatively maybe it was due to preferring a different SB loadout: EMPC rear, SSC sides (missile-only on all turrets to conserve energy) with 6 M/AM & 2 SSC for main guns.

Another good use of the Seas L18 is IMO a T-TQWT:See the picture

Thanks a lot GM!
So this tells me that the opening at the end must be 31.125"^2 for the 36 hz aligned line. Is the line relly just a cone and it goes from zero to 31.125"^2 with a hight of 89.937"?
