3 way revelator floor standers

I will be constructing a set of 3 way floor standers consisting of these tweeters, mids and woofers .

All drivers will be crossed over activley and will be power by ~100watts. The woofer will play down to ~80Hz and from there down to 20hz will be cover by a 15" resonant engineering xxx.

I'm sure quite a few people have made some DIY enclosures for these drivers so I was hoping that someone could provide me with proven designs in order to get the best sound out of these drivers.

Also I am quite new to home audio so any tips or tricks you can give me will be much appreciated.

The 18W8531G00 is a very good choice. I have played with it lately.

It sounds absolutely no problem up to quite high frequency (just starting beaming from 2kHz but no nasty breakups) and the bass response is very good down to low. The driver is very easy to work with.

I can see no reason adding another mid driver between the 18W8531G00 and the tweeter. This adds a great deal of complexity without real benefits. You could use another revelator, such as the 6600 that can cross lower at 2kHz, for example.

I also believe that there is no good reason to go active for crossovers above 1kHz. I would use a passive XO to make it simple, easy to adjust, and save one power amplifier.

If a 15" bass / subwoofer is used, I would have the 18W8531G00 in a sealed enclosure without any electronic high pass filter, effectively make the system 2 way plus a sub.

Go to north creek music systems and look at George Short's recent speaker offerings...I think he uses this woofer in the "Kitty Kat"...He shows you the electrical crossover curves and gives you the box plans. I have built the Borealis and the Rythm speakers using scan speak drivers, and they are suberb...I am sure the kitty kats are even better with this new driver...
