I been tinkering with the idea of a sealed system using a FR driver and a helper woofer.
Since I have a pair of NSB's that aren't being used I figured I would use them as the FR drivers and purchase some of these for the helper woofers: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/psho...TOKEN=37190947 I'm thinking of a 1cuft enclosure, .25cuft for the NSB's and .75cuft for the 8" helper (or there abouts). To keep cost low, I'll build it. Crossover point? Well I haven't really settled on that yet though I've been thinking 2nd order near the LF roll off frequency of the NSB once the baffle width is determined. Since I intend to use these in a small 10'x13' room, probably about 1' off the 10' wall, I doubt any BSC will be necessary. Now where am I wrong? Any pointers would be appreciated. R/ Jim |

I would recommend using a sub amp with a variable crossover to blend these speakers together rather than futzing with a passive crossover. Just my two cents.
Cheap fun! Enjoy! |
