Help-Community CSX35 s2 Replacement parts

Hey guys, I came across this site and love it. There is tons of info here! I am a home theater installer by trade and have a reasonably good understanding of audio in general. But I usually install readybuilt systems so here is my problem-

My wife was a radio DJ for 15+ years. She just recently started doing some mobile DJ work. I purchased a pair of CSX35s from a follow dj and although they are OK one had very weak highs. So I open up the cabs and find that the one that sounded good had the woofer and piezo replaced with a Eminence gamma 15a and a powerline 1141 tweeter. The other one had the original woofer and a chinese knock off tweeter. I replaced both drivers in the bad cab to match the good one and that one is still missing some highs. I also noticed the crossovers are different. The original crossover is 2500hz. My questions are-

1. What crossover point would you use? 1600, 3500, etc

2. What brand of crossover?

3. Where can I get one or both in the orlando area?

Hi,

Those drivers aren't the best match but if that's what you are using then...

Just hook them both up straight to the amp. The piezo acts like a capacitor and requires no XO to prevent damage. It doesn't go very low so you'll have to squeeze as much out of the woofer as possible. That means running it straight with no XO also. This is by no means a great way of doing it but with the parts you have it may be the best of the evils. Is this system just for making noise? ie: parties etc?

I know these aren't the greatest or even close but it is what I'm working with. (Damn Budget) This is not for critical listening just parties, conventions and typical DJ gigs. Believe it or not the better of the two sounds pretty good, its just the other one is missing the highest highs. the tweeter is working but is clearly (forgive the pun) Duller. Look at the pic, the one on the right is the newwer one and the one that sounds ok. I definitely want to use a XO inside the box. I just need a replacement for one or both.

Piezo tweeters do not act the same as regular tweeters. The XO has to be different and that might be why the difference.

I see typical pro XO's with lightbulb protection? and a circuit breaker? on one side and a cap and resistors on the other. Not a lot of that is going to help the sound. You might want to start with what I suggested and work from there. Make sure all drivers are the same.
