Hi Guys
First post on this board. I have been into woodworking for awhile and DIY projects so I have interest in DIY audio especially given the value if done correctly. I am starting to research what is offered for 5.1 HT setups. I have some interest in these: - North Creek Vision setup (or rhythm setup) - BESL Series 5 - have to figure out what to use for surrounds - Orca/Focal HT setup from Zalytron - Audax Designer Series - seen lots of posts on this one. Zalytron seems to have many options that could be used for the speakers besides the 'official' HT setups. When I went around and listened to tons of monitors, the B&W Nautilus 805 sound stood out as my favorite...very enveloping sound, so that is my preference for sound. Comments on these choices, other choices etc... Thanks! Jim |

Well, what *I* would look for in the price range you're talking about:
5 identical speakers plus 2 medium subs. Maybe 5 ME2's and 2 sealed Shiva's? http://www.aloha-audio.com/ME2txt.html#me2 http://www.adireaudio.com/diy_audio/...dire/shiva.htm I'm a proponent of identical speakers for HT, and since I own a big sub now, I would rather 2 smaller ones for music listening. One is fine for movies.
