I am a novice here with my first post. I have been involved with audio for a number of years and have a moderate system consisting of the following. Turntable, Scheu Premier Cartridges, Clearaudio Sigma Gold, Scheu/Benz mc, Denon 103, & 304 & a Coral mc 81. Phono Preamp, Coph Nia made in Sweden. Preamp, Audible Illusions M3A Amps, Blue Circle BC2 monoblocks, Moscode (customized) 300 and Kinergetic Research KBA Platinum monoblocks. Speakers, Magnepan 1.6 and MMG. NHT Sub 2 Cables, Silver CRL speaker cables, Nordost and Aural Harmonies interconnect. Anyhow, I am looking for recommendations on Nagaoka-Style Horn drivers etc. I am going to have a friend build cabinets for me and I have done much research as well as listening and have found single point drivers to sound simply amazing. I have heard Lowther and Feastrex but not Fostex and many others. I cannot afford Feastrex otherwise I would likely use these. Fostex and Lowther are more probable. Choosing, Olson-Nagaoka designs because of aesthetic reasons and because at RMAF 2008 the speakers I liked the most had a similar cabinet design with single drivers. Such as Maxxhorn and Feastrex. Soundwise, I would like a rich, warm midrange with as much extension in both directions, within reason of course with single drivers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ramon |
