Default My latest find

Our old church in Katanning was scrapping its old and tired Wurlitzer and it looked like it was destined for the tip. I got my dad to salvage the speakers.
A killer 15" woofer a full range and a Spectratone (Leslie type) speaker.
Ive not been able to find any info on them, I think the chances of getting matching drivers is remote so Ill make a single kick bum boom box for the shed. Ill put a 100w amp in it and use my Creative Zen as a source.

Wired them all up without enclosures and they all work well. The bigun sounds really good even without an enclosure.

Can you post pictures of the back?

100W is overkill, 2-10 will likely do the job.

There should be a manufacturers date code on the back; I have several speakers out of old organs, IIRC one was made by Wurlitzer even though it was another brand, the speakers were a pair of 12" US Rolas with whizzer cones (I'm keeping them for a Guitar amp project if I ever get around to it...)

May be a different driver but my Wurlitzer 15" (square magnet) from a Centura measures about fs=45 and Qt=0.3.

Thanks fellas, Ive flashed off an email to a mob in England who service Wurlitzers and I may go directly to Wurlitzer and ask them.
Meanwhile Ill work with what youve given me.
I agree about the size of the amp.
Its' just that I have in my hot sweatys a spare 100w mono amp. Plus my shed is 18m x 6m.
