Default horn design resource

hello

i think to make a online horn design resource, like sugested by Paul Spencer, a good idea :

Let's get horny! (aka building a horn design resource)

since i have a dedicated forum for horns,

http://www.audiovoice-acoustics.com/forum/index.php

i have opened a new section for this.

beside the topics sugested by Paul

* introduction - brief discussion of horns, pros and cons
* horn types
* terminology
* horn theory basics - charts, formulas
* driver selection guidelines
* simulation - basic guide to hornresp and any other programs
* case studies - 1 of each type of horn so that you will find something similar to anything one is likely to want to try
* plans - including all that is necessary to implement a pre-existing design for anyone who wants to do a copy rather than go through the process

has someone ideas of other topics of general interest ? Any participation to built up this information resource would be aprechiated.

Angelo

Wow, sounds great!

Considering my ongoing horn-project, this is something I must definitively check out!

great initiative!

hello Elbert

what i see at " beyond the ariel " thread : there are many things discussed at over 500 pages, but when you want to find something specific, its almost impossible. the forum search engine just shows that its mentioned there, but at which page ? how to find it ? it's not possible. If you could inform what you research and want to know and to learn during your developing process, what specificly you are searching for, and try to accomplish, it could be opened a specific thread for this, and searched all related infos and posted at the specific topic. Since you are directly involved in the developing, the questions evolve and arise naturally. To answer them in a organized manner, find the info and post it , will help others later, and the goal will be accomplished. Of course the related questions are very broad, there are many, but some are key, and to start with these certainly would be a good beginning. May we can open subtopics afterwards.
