Hi anyone,
- Am about to build another tubeamplifier, or as alternative , buy a more powerfull tubeamp. Does anyone know the presize sensitivity of the AR3a "Improved"?
Does anyone have experience driving the AR3a with the TVA-1 from Michelson & Austin. Approx. 70 Watt/ pr. channel ??
Thanks for your answer in advance.
Ses some of the AR3a rebuild:

countryman over at classic speaker pages
There's a guy who's handle is KlausDK who posts over at
www.classicspeakerpages.net discussion area. He's from Denmark also and I believe, knowledgeable about AR3a improved models.
Give him a try.
Good luck,
Carl

Hi Carl,
Thanks Carl. I know him. I have bought some of the shown AR speakers from Klaus.
The issue concerning AR3a is whether 70 Watt tube power can bring the AR3a to perform at its limit, or one have to use transistorpower.
Klaus has used mosfet transistor amplifiers to drive his AR speakers. I think that AR3a delivers approx. 88/89dB by 1 Watt, but I am not sure.
Thank for your reply.

Not sure if yours are 4 or 8 ohm. AR published some info on power handling and fusing which may help. See link

I tend to agree with your 88/89dB figure. I've tested some of the US 4 ohm 3a's and get about that.
