Would a Vifa XT25BG60-04 and Peerless 830669 2 way work?

Having heard Vifa dual ring radiators (XT19/25) in various speakers, I'd love to build a speaker around them.

Being a Tannoy nut, and also due to being a first time speaker builder, I'd like to only build a full range 2 or 2.5 way design. There are a few DIY pages out there using this tweeter, but mostly bookshelves or three way designs. Due to my main listening room being a bass suckout and my other listening room being on the large side, I'd like to build a large two way. This tweeter doesn't typically like to go low. But according to a thread here, by using a 10-12" waveguide it can supposedly go down to 500Hz, making it usable for a larger two way.

Now the difficult part, finding a woofer that it will play nicely with. From my limited knowledge, the Peerless 830669 may work: http://www.tymphany.com/830669

Now, I'm not sure if I want to build a open baffle or ported box. I helped build the 200 liter cabinets for my Tannoy HPD's and recently veneered them myself, so I have some experience with building. But the thought of a waveguide and 1-2 12" woofers mounted on a piece of 1.25" thick MDF veneered with zebra wood...

Thanks,
Mike

A large woofer will beam, so it depends on how you do your listening - sitting in one place or moving around.
A design like this (2.5 way despite the number of drivers) will probably give you better sound dispersion in the room.:

(the Mark 1 uses the tweeter you like)
I suspect your bass problem will need to be dealt with separately, though, using a separate judiciously placed sub and/or room treatment. It would also probably mean that ported would be best (for efficiency reasons).

To be happy with this 12" driver, you should add a 5" driver to handle the 500-2000Hz range. A SDS134 or a HDS134 will fit very well. The SLS315 should works in a 70L closed box. http://www.tymphany.com/830669-app-note. Don't forget to put a RLC on the SLS315 to suppress the 2kHz resonance peak.

I've made an OB with 2xSLS315, a SDS 134 and two DX25 (one rear) and I'am very happy with this setup. It 's works extremely well, but very difficult for me to tune it correctly.
