Hello,
I'm new here. I purchased a used set of Event Studio Precision 8's active monitors recently, they worked ok until tonight. One of the speakers gives a loud crackling/static sound out of its tweeter. Audio plays ok through the speakers, both woofers and tweeters. I swapped the tweeters and the tweeter is ok. Any advice on how to trouble shoot this would be appreciated. I've narrowed it down to the tweeter circuit somewhere. I'm still trying to find a schematic. I did see a post here about event 6's and the amp board looks very similar if not the same. I mistakenly unplugged the source plug before turning off the monitor, a small screech and pop like unplugging a guitar cord from a powered guitar amp. Hard from me to believe that slipping up one time fried something.. but looks to be the case. Please help my dumb *** out.. they were connected to the 1/4" jacks on the back of the monitors then to my laptop combined to rca's to stereo mini adapter. Hope I can save this, these monitors are really transparent. Thanks for any help.. |
