I'm looking for some assurance that I can take a DE250 apart and put it back together without screwing it up.
I want to see the throat better in order to consider fixtures for waveguide construction and alignment. TIA

Mongo,
We are on the same page, except I'll be looking at my Altec 902s in the near future. I'd rather not take the thing apart but.... Good luck!

I can't speak for the DE250, but I've taken apart a DE200 to repair a broken phase plug. The big issue is voice coil alignment and with the DE200 that is taken care of by a metal ring attached to the coil/dome assembly that fits into a lip in the front plate. It was quite straightforward to take it apart and put it back together and it now works fine. I have to imagine the DE250 is similar.

most compression drivers have alignment features so that replacement diaphragms are easily field serviceable.
