1 inch dual concentric Wavecor Tweeter
http://www.wavecor.com/html/tw030wa02.html 6 1/4 inch wavecor midwoofer http://www.wavecor.com/html/wf160wa01.html 10 inch Vifa PL26W http://www.tymphany.com/pl26wr09-04 can anybody recommend the crossover design? I have the following design but I would like to use a L-pad atten for the tweeter any further recommendations... I want to put the tweeter open just by putting two screws so that the tweeter will remain on the outer side... what do u suggest? |

Did you use the actual (measured) impedance of the drivers at the crossover frequencies you selected when calculating your parts values?

Thats completely Dependant on your baffle shape and size. It's far more ideal to measure the response of the drivers and take from there, however, if you can not, then there are ways to "fudge" the rest. You still need the drivers measurement from some source, and then trace the graph. Then you have to process that response so that the effect of the chosen enclosure is included, both in its extension of the bass and its effect on baffle diffraction. Then you can model your crossover values based on these processed graphs. Most would argue the rest should be fine tuned by ear. While I'm not a fan or advocate of this method, I'd be lying if I said I had never done it before. I recently measured the response of a speaker I had designed this way when I was younger, and while not ideal, it was surprisingly good. Choosing crossover values this way isn't far off from shooting darts in the dark.

looking at the response of the mid-bass unit, I'd go for something that is smoother at the high end if I had to crossover that high.
Perhaps Wavecor has a 5" or 4" unit?

The reason why I wanted to go with 6 1/4 inch is that the 10 inch driver mates very well with 6 1/4...
Even Wilson Audio uses 7 inch scanspeak driver with 10 inch woofer... here with new crossover points Ive reduced the crossover point to 2400Hz at upper and 300Hz at lower which i believe should be pretty good? but pros pls give suggestions... |

This unit : http://www.wavecor.com/html/wf118wa01_02.html
would likely give you a smoother response, and is a better match for sensitivity
