hi,
I have a pair of Adire Audio Extremis 4 ohm driver and wanted to use them for car audio. Any recommendation of what tweeters to use in a 2-way setup that will blend nicely with the Extremis? Currently what i have in mind are Scanspeak D2904/600000 and D3004/660000 but these tweeters do cost a bomb. What about making passive crossover for it? or will it be better to use onboard crossover on the amplifier. thanks |

i cant help you with deciding on a tweeter, but as for the crossover, i would use the one on the amp.
the amp has an active crossover on it, which cuts the bass before it gets amplified. this puts less stress on the amp. plus you can adjust the cutoff frequency easily. the only thing you will need on a 2-way setup is a capacitor connected in series with the tweeter, so only high frequencies go to it |
