Default Focal Bookshelf - Audiom TLR & 7W4411

Howdy,

I've put together a design using Focal drivers, specifically the Audiom TLR tweeter and 7W4411 midrange/midbass.

Specifactions are as follow:

Box Dimensions: 260 X 370 X 460 mm
Frequency Responce: 45 to 22000 Hz +/- 2 db and -10 db points 35 and 26000 Hz
Crossover Points: 300 Hz and 3700 Hz @ 6 db/octave

Should be a great sounding reference bookshelf. Any ideas on the crossover components?

Thanks

Richy

Do you mean crossover components or crossover design?

Richy:

Crossover design is the most complicated part about designing a speaker. It's not trivial. I recommend you find a published design from a reputable designer if you'd like to build your own speakers.

Click the image to open in full size.

This one has two midwoofers. So, 1 kubic foot for your cabinet.

Here's a start:

Make L2 0.82mH, C3 8uF and increase R1 to 5R6

Listen to it and report your findings.

Cheers,

Is it a 2 1/2 way?
Play around as you see fit, but Focal themselves favour 24db acoustic crossovers. I agree. This normally means second order electrical, so only a couple more parts.
Great drivers, lots of potential.
