Question parameter conversion

Please help. I've lost my mind.

How do I convert between effective area (Sd) and effective diameter (D)?

If we assume that its a flat circular surface, than Sd_eff = Pi/4*D_eff^2 or D_eff = sqrt(4*Sd_eff/Pi)
