Hi,

I'm curious about measurements I'm taking using a WT3. Anyone measure an F8?

Also, does anyone know the piston diameter of this speaker?

About F8 ,the Linear Excursion (Xmax) is 5.0(mm) . :)

Is linear excursion the same as piston diameter? Sorry if it's a silly question - I'm new...:)

No.

Piston diameter is close to the diameter of the cone; it has small corrections for the fraction of the surround that moves.

Linear excursion is how far the cone can move backwards and forwards without distortion.

Thanks for explaining that! So, can I get close by measuring the diameter betwwen inside edges of the surround?

Pretty much, include 1/3 of the surround as well.
