Default Aussie 15 inchers for OB

The cost to import Alpha 15A's from the US is quite prohibitive. There's not much options locally here except those designed for car subwoofers and they are always stiff, low Qts items.

Then I noticed DJCity is selling 15" woofers with Qts of 0.57. Not as high as the Alpha, but much better than most car subs.

Has anyone had the experience in using these woofers on OB? The plan in mind is to build something like Jamo reference.

You'll have to use a lot of EQ.

I got the Alphas from the US, $85each including postage, last year. I can't find that deal again at the moment, but I think it looked like being about $100US each ($103Aus at the moment) including postage last time I looked. that was for a pair, it might be a little cheaper for 4.

Andy, sensitivity is a bit low for a passive crossover OB (OK for active, I guess). Same thing goes for a similar driver from Jaycar (which doesn't handle nearly as much power).

These P-Audio 15"ers are a good price, with lower Fs,
downside not quite as efficient (use 2/side) and lower Qt...

$US65/driver and about the same for postage makes them $A140 landed worst case.
Don't use anyone that ships UPS/Fedex and send them USPS air.

I have about 8 B15's NIB I'll let go to clear some space if that'll help.
